ABOUT DOMINIQUE

Dominique Fong is a reporter at The Oregonian covering the city of Beaverton and the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District. She graduated May 2010 from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with degrees in journalism and political science, established a grant-funded Asian Pacific American magazine, produced a weekly talk show, researched a senior thesis on cyber-guerilla warfare and completed a fellowship exploring news entrepreneurship.

She became a journalist to investigate and expose injustices, nourish her curiosity and entertain her natural-born cynicism.

A cultural connoisseur, she is particularly interested in fashion, the arts, politics, international affairs and feasible models for changing news media. She speaks English, Cantonese and French -- someday Spanish and Arabic, too.

In her spare time, she's always working on some sort of half-finished personal project. Her works in progress include a piano music score, an oil painting of a blood orange, a satirical graphic novel and a homemade handbag.
